[SOLVED]PS3 Controller Windows XP SP3
[SOLVED]PS3 Controller Windows XP SP3
Hi-
Thanks for advise from this group first of all. I just bought a PS3 Dualshock3 controller and have it plugged in via USB to my computer. When I first plug it in all 4 of the lights on the front of it flash. Device manager sees the controller but when I go into the test or calibration tab I get nothing.
I installed Motionjoy and it is not seen there either and when trying to install the driver from there I get :
Error Code OX - 1ffffdfa
In the CF client it does see the controller but on boot I get this error:
Error while opening/initializing input device:
Traceback (most recent call last)
File "cfclient\utils\input.pyc",line 225 in startInput
ValueError: u'PS3_Mode_1 is not in the list
Help!!
Thanks again.

Re: PS3 Controller Windows XP SP3
For Windows XP you should not need MotionJoy, it should work out of the box.
The error you are getting is solved by deleting the C:\Users\your_user\AppData\Roaming\cfclient directly. Please have a look at this page for instructions. Do not use the load feature when doing the configuration. If you still don't get any input try pressing the "Playstation" button in the middle of the controller.

Thanks for that info. I dont seem to have that exact folder path but have
C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\cfclient
see attached.
Thanks again.

Re: PS3 Controller Windows XP SP3
That's the one.

Also: AR.Drone 2.0 (RC-enabled thanks to self-soldered MiruMod) and Hubsan X4 H107
Re: PS3 Controller Windows XP SP3
If you click on "Input Device" > "Configure device mapping" and there select your controller and click "Configure", can you assign yaw, thrust etc. to the sticks?

Re: PS3 Controller Windows XP SP3
When I do that the values don't change at all. It just tells me to move the stick or push a button with no results.
Re: PS3 Controller Windows XP SP3
Press the round "Playstation" button in the middle of the controller and then try it again.
Re: PS3 Controller Windows XP SP3
Any other ideas?
Re: PS3 Controller Windows XP SP3
So if you press "Detect" in the dialogue you are now for the thrust and push the right analog stick all the way to the top it doesn't work even after pressing the "Playstation" button?
