CrazyFlie 2: M1 Blinks Red 5 Times

Post by eddieparker »

Hello:

The installation instructions direct me to the support forums, but I can't see anyone mentioning the problem they point out: on the self test, without anything assembled or attached, M1 flashes 5 times.

I've just purchased this and had it arrive - what should I do now? I've seen some mention about a capacitor that might be blown - can anyone tell me what to look for and where? I have a rework station and could pick up new capacitors if need be. Shame it doesn't work out of the box tho.

Sorry about the board failing right of the box, we have seen some cases with this now, human factor... There is a thread about how to find what is failing and solving it here.

Thanks tobias.

I actually have two of these I purchased and they both of the M1 blinking red 5 times. I'll scan the thread, but one of them flies despite the red blinking light... Admittedly it's completely imbalanced and won't hover.

Are there any resources on balancing them better? Or could it be a symptom of the red flashing?

Thanks,
