Chipped "On/Off" switch

Post by mbieren »

Hello,

by contact with a table corner I chipped away the "On/Off" Switch. It seems to be only clued to the board. Luckily the switching mechanism is only a small plate of metal that (by pressing the button) short-circuts a circular area on the board.

This can be easily faked by cleaning the remaining parts and using a small wire to shortly re establish contact between the outer ring and the middle knob.

Just In case .....

If you are looking for a replacement have a look at the wiki.

And as you figured out the on/off is controlled by grounding one of the pins which can be done in many ways.
