Re: VM will not open in VMplayer Please HELP
Hi,
What version of VMWare on what host system are you using? If you downloaded via torrent there should not be any corruption problem with the file itself so maybe you are using a version of vmware that cannot read it.
The OVA is in fact a .zip file that contains the vmdk hard-drive and a descriptor. So you can extract it (for example I did it with 7zip), and create a linux (ubuntu) virtual machine in VMWare using the vmdk as harddrive. We set it up with 1G of ram. I tested and it works with Virtualbox it should also work with vmware.

Re: VM will not open in VMplayer Please HELP
The version I am using is for non commercial use V7.1.0.
I am using it on a windows 8.1 OS.
It is indeed an .ova file so... should I try to extract it?

Re: VM will not open in VMplayer Please HELP
Hi,
I tried with VMWare player 7.1 and it works well, there is just a warning about the ova file but that passed it imports the VM. Also unfortunately importing the extracted vmdk as I described does not seem to work with vmware so this does not seems to be an option.
Maybe you can launch again your torrent client to make sure the VM is well downloaded (if not the torrent client will fix it by re-downloading the damaged parts). Otherwise you can try Virtualbox, it should work even better anyway as this VM is pre-configured with virtualBox guest addition.

Re: VM will not open in VMplayer Please HELP
Downloaded Virtualbox. I still can't seem to get the Torrent file to open. I went on line to get help but I just can't seem to get things working. Can you please give me some steps to try with virtual box. I have had the Bitcraze for about a year and I am very excited to start some development work but I am frustrated in not being able to get the VM up and running or understanding how to interact with sensors that I want to add. I am able to use the sample PY files and the Bitcraze will run the motors and I can get it to leave the ground but I don't know how to continue development in that environment.
Thanks

Re: VM will not open in VMplayer Please HELP
You might want to simply try downloading the VM directly rather than using a torrent, since that seems to be causing you some trouble. The import should be pretty painless. It should not be complicated, provided the file you downloaded is intact.

Chad, Thank a bunch for the help but the link you posted didn't download for me. I just got the W8.1 wheel turn and indicated that it would take "days" to download!
Can you please check it and post it again.
Thanks

Re: VM will not open in VMplayer Please HELP
It just took me about 19 minutes to download. Connecting speed was around 2MB/sec. Might you have some internet connectivity problems?

Re: VM will not open in VMplayer Please HELP
Seems like VM is working on virtual box. I just need to understand how to get started. All I need now is a point in the right direction. Are there any tutorials specific to Crazyflie?
Thanks
