Crazyflie 2 doesn't hover?

i'm currently using the iOS / bluetooth combo and i'm not sure trim adjustments are available there.

Ahh! While a cool controller, I find it extremely hard to control the CF very well using the iOS client. My fingers are just not that good at keeping steady. The tactile feedback you get from a controller makes a lot of difference on controllability.

i'm running OS X, so still working on the getting the VM / CrazyRadio pieces going. A work in progress.

I used to use a VM a lot for the CF1.0 but I found it was much more fun (and satisfying to me) to run natively on the Mac. It's entirely doable. You'll need MacPorts or Homebrew (I used MacPorts). If you try it and get stuck, I'm happy to help!!

I sadly have to add my vote to the group of "unbalanced customers" ... I received my CF2 just before christmas and had to "rebalance" all but one of the props. How do I get my hands on the fixed ones?

We are still looking into this issue and until it's fixed we still just have the unbalanced CCW props. We will get back with more info as soon as we have it.

Is great to see some action on the issue, was very disappointed on the 2.0 when I first received it, am suffering from SERIOUS hover issue with the unbalanced CCW props (already try to manually fix with tape as suggested, it is "slightly" better but still far from control-able, it is even worst than a US$20 kid toy drone in Toy'R US)

Something else has to be wrong here. Even with unbalanced CCW props mine is totally controllable. Far better than a "US$20 kid toy drone in Toy'R US"... What are you using to control it? What OS (or mobile device)?

I am on iOS8.1.x with iPadAir2, I have to say the control is hard on a tablet...
Wanted to order New Crazyradio PA but seems it was out of stock....

I am new to crazyflie, quick dumb question is can I use my computer with BT4.0 to control it with a controller? I think the tablet control really isn't good....

Yes I agree that a touch screen is much harder to use then a something with tactile feedback. You can however expect the apps to get better as they will be more and more developed but I don't think they ever will be as good as a gamepad/joystick.

For Mac that might not be impossible as the API is close to iOS and not so much development work is needed. For Linux and Windows there is just to much work even though it can be technically done. Bluetooth LE has a bit of latency though and will never get as good as the Crazyradio.

Great thanks Tobias, just ordered the last CrazyRadio instead, I can always order PA when it is back in stock.

I was just a bit disappointed, tho not angry or upset or whatsoever, crazyfile is really great, was having very high expectation as a Christmas gift for myself and I guess I just need more time and gear to have more fun with it.

Control is ok with an iPhone, but it is much harder with an iPad. Probably this is due to the fact that it is an iPhone app and the UI is not adapted for iPad.

Nevertheless it took me some time to learn. Maybe try to use a custom mode and set the controls even lower than the slow setting. Setting yawn to 0 did the trick for me. After some hours of trying I can now fly in slow mode.

Setting Yaw to 0 in the custom controls was a good idea. It makes the iOS client much easier to learn! I did that on my PS3 controller when I first learned how to fly. I'm not sure why I didn't think of it for the iOS client. First flights are much easier when your heading is constant!
