Can't connect to bootloader
Can't connect to bootloader
Today I assembled one of my newly arrive CF 2.0. To avoid the shutdown on ramp up problem, I'd like to update the firmware. So I downloaded the new client and tried to follow the directions for updating via the bootloader. Only problem is that I can't connect via the bootloader. I can connect and fly the new CF via the client or via my own code but it consistently fails to connect with the bootloader. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Re: Can't connect to bootloader
Have you tried updating the FW with DFU mode?

Re: Can't connect to bootloader
No, not yet. I got hung up on trying to figure out why it won't connect via boot loader. And playing with other features. I'll give it a try but first have to install Zadig since I'm currently working in Windows. Though I'd still like to find out why it won't connect.
Thanks.
Thanks.

For sure!hdmathias wrote:Though I'd still like to find out why it won't connect.
I think I was just projecting my desire to get flying ASAP on to you.

Re: Can't connect to bootloader
The instructions are kind of lacking right now and we are doing as much as we can to improve them.
To bootload the CF2 you need the new cfclient. Do you have that?
Then the procedure to put the CF2 is a bit different from CF1. You should hold down the power button until the blue LED M2 starts to blink. Release it and the blue led M3 should also start blinking. The CF2 is now in "radio" bootloader mode. Now you should be able to connect to it in the bootloader dialog.

Re: Can't connect to bootloader
Thanks Tobias and Chad for taking time to reply. I do have the new Client and will try the new bootloader instructions later today.
By the way, I'd like to mention that the CF 2.0 is a wonderful package with many significant improvements. My compliments to the Bitcraze team on a job well done.
UPDATE: The new bootloader instructions did the trick. Thank you.
