I tried and struggled to follow this video (around 2:24) when assembling my Crazyflie. It was a nightmare! I lack a steady enough hand to do this technique of heating and pushing in from the opposite side. After struggling to do this for ages I've eventually burnt off the pads - although the wires seem to have attached to something.
I checked the site again and found the actual assembly instructions and another video and managed to do the other holes with minimal fuss. So a word of warning to other fellow newbies; don't attempt to do push through solder technique!
So, now I'm left with a dead M4 Motor but the rest work.
I've put my multimeter on the motor wires at the other side. There seems to be a bit of pad left on that side, and when I touch that and the corresponding leg of the diode - I get a beep! I'm assuming that is right. I've looked at the schematic and it seems to follow the pattern of the other motors.
My plan is to attempt to solder it to that side - I've ordered a really fine solder tip and solder.
Failing that attempt to solder on to those pads, where else can I attach the wires?
Direct to the diode?
To the transistor and battery? Which way round do the wires go?

Re: Burnt the M4 pads after trying to follow first video
You should be able to get around the problem. All the square pads are connected to the battery rail so for that you can just use the neighbor one. For the round pad you can solder the wire directly to the mosfet. The single pin that is close to the round pad.

Thanks for the advice tobias.
Re: Burnt the M4 pads after trying to follow first video
I checked the connection to the mosfet - that worked fine
all I had to do to get it working was get a tiny piece of wire to bridge the gap between the pads
