Reading other posts, I've learned a little about soldering tips, too bad it was after making a mistake from replacing one of the motors. The issue is that I was trying to use a solder sucker to get the solder hole cleaned out. As a result, I managed to unsolder and displace D2 from the PCB, see picture.

Has anyone ever successfully re-attached a surface mounted Diode?. I tried with my soldering iron and didn't have much luck. Someone suggested that I use solder paste and a heat gun, but that doesn't sound like a good solution. Just looking for some repair ideas. M2 doesn't run because of it.

The diode is pretty small but can be soldered with a single soldering iron pretty much the same way as a surface mount resistor. First heat up one of the sides then the other. You might have to remove some of the solder on the second pad to solder to make it solder flat. You could also try to switch sides quickly and that way make it flat. Using new solder or flux will help a lot so the solder "floats" nicely. If you have something else to practice on that might be a good start.

The motor should run without the diode though so there might be something fishy going on.
