Hi,
I've reviewed and set up a simple environment for Renode as specified in Josefine Möllerström and Max Nyberg Carlsson's paper.
This seems like a good way to simulate HW and run CF firmware without code changes.
I'm interested to hear of your future plans, does BitCraze have a road map for implementation of renode peripherals and integration with world simulation tools such as Gazebo?
Or, are you in touch with research teams who are working on this?

Happy to hear that you're interested in this. Yeah, we're happy with the results that Max and Josefine got and it seems to be a good way forward for simulation. Currently there's nothing planned for continuing this work from Bitcraze side, instead we've been putting effort into running tests on hardware (see this repository). As far as we know there's no other researchers currently taking this route (Renode->Gazebo), but it's definitively something we would be interested in.
