Wrong Range Measurement Tag to Anchor

Post by jdiep » Mon Feb 25, 2019 4:45 pm

Hi there,

I am currently testing range measurements of 2 Loco positioning nodes, whereas one is set as a tag and the other one as an anchor. Thereby, I place both sensor facing each other at a fixed distance (in the image, the distance is 1m).

I follow the instruction at this https://wiki.bitcraze.io/projects:lps:node page to read out the distance estimation from picocom. I wrote a simple Python script that builds histograms after a certain number of iterations. Thereby, the results are far off the common error of 10cm.

For 1000mm distance:

I also did the test for 50cm, 150cm and 200cm with the following results.

500mm:

1500mm:

2000mm:

Am I doing something essentially wrong, or do I need to postprocess these distance measurement?
