Please help me figure out how to wirelessly pair a PS3 controller to my mac to fly my Crazyflie 2.0 before I go absolutely mad! I have not even the slightest clue what the heck I'm doing. I spent hours on it and hardly got anywhere. Give me the easiest instructions you can possibly give.

It should be as easy as this... Make sure to read the comments to understand the behavior if you're running recent Mac OS X versions.

I can pair it, but I'm trying to pair it in the Bitcraze VM. The options in the Bluetooth settings are greyed out in the virtual machine. I just want to know of I can use the internal Bluetooth of my MacBook Pro in the VM.

I see. The text and subject of your original question indicated you were trying to pair it to the Mac:

Getting it to work in a VM is a very different thing.

What are you using to run the VM? VirtualBox or some other hypervisor?

I could always change the title of my question. I'm using VirtualBox.

Of course you could. I'm just saying, the original question I answered was how to connect wirelessly to your Mac (what you asked in the post) but the question you really had was how to connect wirelessly to the VM.

Unfortunately, I think you're SOL on that. A look through this thread at VirtualBox.org shows a possible workaround, but later posts indicate it doesn't work more recent systems...

You can run the CFclient on your Mac though. You don't necessarily need the VM.

That link worked great, a few parts were a bit confusing. Definitely a lot easier than trying to figure out the Virtual Machine. I guess simply look on youtube for how to connect a ps3 controller to your Macbook after installing the client through Macports correctly. Wish I remembered exactly what I had a hard time with to help other people out. By no means am I an expert at this and I was able to get through the installation process without too much of a headache. I wish for others struggling with their crazyflie and Mac to know that Macports is the way to go.
