On/Off Button Doesn't Work

I just received my new Crazyflie 2.0, however the on/off button does nothing. I plug in the battery and it fires up just fine, but I can't turn it off. Or put it into bootloader mode.

Any suggestions on how I can get this power button working?

Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Can you see/feel anything "strange" with the mechanics of the push button? The push button is a simple switch to GND. To rule out any electrical problem try shorting, with e.g. a pair of tweezers, the two sides (ears) of the push button where there is solder. This will work the same way as the push button.

Thanks! The button feels fine. It "clicks" when I push it.

If I connect the two sides of the button with a piece of wire, it works. Weird, thanks for the idea!

If you don't want to use a jumper you can replace the button. It's essentially the same as the Crazyflie Nano (1.0) button (same hardware) and with a modicum of soldering skills, you can do it!

Then for some reason the the switch mechanics doesn't short as it should. Are you able to make it work some way, like trying different push techniques? Does it help if you press the push button against the PCB while pushing it (investigating a bad connection to the PCB)?
