Broken LED on 10-DOF

Hello,

Picked up a 10-DOF around the winter holidays and have only just got round to assembly.

I have the issue with the radio (which is being replaced kindly by bitcraze- http://forum.bitcraze.se/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1400)

The Red LED doesn't work. At first I thought that there might be an issue with the board but on closer inspection and with testing with a spare LED it was evident it was broken.

There's a small bit of copper exposed on the PCB. I guess this is something that shows the board took a knock at some point.

Here's a vid that shows the signal is getting through to a spare LED...

Apologies for the noise I was on an intercity train at the time!

I don't know how essential the Red LED is in day to day use- I mean I could get by without it but might that be a pain?

Thanks again,

Mark

Hi Mark,

As you say the red led has has clearly taken a hit at some point judging from the pictures. The function of the red led is to show heartbeat and low battery warning. It is kind of useful information but not critical.

If you have some soldering experience it is not that hard to exchange it but without it and doe to the small size it can be a bit tricky. I can send you a red led if you would like to give it a try?

Yes please, Tobias. I don't mind trying.

Thanks again, Mark
