Hello, crazycopters and radio fans. I am french man living in the mountains, in the central part of my country, not far from Limoges. Are there any other french man in this forum?

As my french is better than my english, I should say : bonjour à tous les amoureux de la technologie bitcraze. Crazyflie n'est pas un jouet et il faut du temps (il m'a fallu du temps) pour commencer à l'envoyer là où je souhaitais qu'il aille. Merci aux francophones de me laisser un petit message.

I am French, now living in Sweden. So far we decided to keep the Forum in English because at Bitcraze I am the only one to speak French and we do no speak any other languages, we cannot have on our server things we do not understand ourselves....

Salut Ziboul, je suis prof de sciences de l'ingénieur et je m'interesse a BitCraze pour mes cours. Je cherche a mettre a la main sur un exemplaire a un prix raisonnable en france et dés que c'est fait je me mettrai au travail. J'ai plusieurs objectifs de cours et travaux pratiques autour de la simulation, la programmation d'un système de controle de vol. Je prévoir aussi un système de support qui permette de tester le crazeflie en contraignant son mouvemment (controle de l'altitude seul, controle du roulis seul par exemple). Je m'exprime bien en anglais donc je me servirai surtout de ce langage mais on pourra discuter en francais à l'occasion.

Heureux de rencontrer un compatriote, même si nous ne sommes pas les seuls "frenchies" dans ce forum.
J'habite en Limousin, retraité, mais j'ai également un passé dans le contôle des systèmes, Paris, Toulouse (aéronautique) et Clermont-Ferrand..
Crazyflie est un magnifique projet dans le genre informatique temps réel et robotique. Parfait pour des ingénieurs en robotique. Depuis 6 mois, je bataille avec le "copter" pour réussir un pilotage manuel dans mon bureau de 15m2 environ, encombré de meubles. J'ai cassé baucoup de "bois" (hélices surtout, et moteurs) au début. Je veux arriver à un pilotage manuel sans fautes avant de passer à des choses plus élaborées, comme le "vol sur le dos" par exemple, qui semble être avant tout une problème d'électronique.
J'ai installé l'anneau de LEDs, amusant et surtout pratique pour voir l'avant de l'appareil en vol (important). Également, le buzzer, pas encore testé.
Je suis entré dans le logiciel, le logiciel de télé-commande "cfclient" et son homologue sans fenêtre "cfheadless" pour y effectuer quelques modifications simples. Écrits en Python+QT4. Également le logiciel embarqué "crazyflie-firmware" (en C objet). Petite modification également, puis compilation et flash sur la machine volante. Pas de difficultés.
Donnez-moi de vos nouvelles et de vos projets. Votre établilssement doit pouvoir sortir les 200€ nécessaires et suffisants pour faire déjà beaucoup de choses. Si vous achetez, allez directement chez Seed studio (HK je crois). Il existe un ou plus revendeurs en France. Mais ils sont mal approvisionnés, pratiquent des marges abusives et le service n'est pas à la hauteur. De HK, livré par la poste de Singapour. 15 jours en moyenne mais pas cher, alors que DHL et consorts, je ne vous dit pas.
N'hésitez pas à me contacter pour échanges d'informations. Plus pratique dans la langue maternelle.

I'm also a french guy from Bordeaux,
I'm going to buy one of the crazyflie drone,
and have some questions for you guys,
Can a small lcd display, or laser diode be added to an expansion board
if yes I didn't find any documentation about that so if someone
can tell me if something existing about that I will be very
grateful !

PS:
I read that a 4wd version of the cf 2.0 was possible but didn't find
concrete documentation/tutorials about that.

Crazyflie is a fascinating domain.
At the beginning, I used a smartphone android command, but it is rather difficult to control the quad with it. Then I bought an xbox360, but had to write down the pilot for correct input. Not really a difficulty, there are examples. I wrote it down directly, not using "xboxdrv" as indicated in the doc and everything goes alright.
I hope to install GPS and/or camera but before I have to sufficiently understand the software.
I use the LED ring deck. Everything is OK, except a small modification in the python client.
You will have a lot of fun, I guarantee.
Ask your questions, I will answer if I can.

I've got few knowledge about arduino and I asking myself
if I can install an arduino nano controller as an independant
device with another small battery, I think that will be too heavy
so is there a way to install :
laser diode, sensor (IR or ultrasound) , lcd display in directly
solder it in a expansion board for cf 2.0 ?

At any rate crazyflie project looks very interesting so I'm conviced
that I will buy one in few days

I have no experience with Arduino...
I use:
1/ bitcraze application on smartphone (huawei G620S),
2/ Python-client on main computer, my system is Debian 8,
3/ idem on Raspberry PI2, both with GUI and Headless.
No problems.
I made only a few corrections to adapt the soft to my preferred habits.
