CF is not seen by cfclient, after some accident

Post by Veerachart »

Hi guys.

My crazyflie now is not seen by the cfclient after power up.

This happened after I tried connecting a wireless camera to the crazyflie. I connected positive wire with pin 16 of the 20-pin holes and negative wire to pin 19. However, the soldering happened to have a short-circuit between + and - (but I don't know it when I connect to the flie.) When I put the power button, it didn't power up, but when the camera is removed, it was turned on. Trying for a few times, then I saw some smoke coming out (from the bottom, I think.)

As far as I inspect:
  • PWR LED blinks once at the power up, and never lit again.
    RED LED blinks normally.
At startup, all four motors still rotate.
When plugged into USB, PWR LED is not lit, GREEN and RED LED still blink, but not as bright as before.
VCC output is around 1.8-1.9 V, instead of 2.8 V.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks

The VCC regulator got damaged so replacing it should fix the problem.

Is there any way that I can do to check if it is really the VCC regulator? (Although the symptoms in your link are quite similar to mine)

Yes, you write that the VCC is 1.9V and that is a symptom that the regulator isn't working properly. I might have some spares so if you PM me your address I can send some in an envelope to you.
