What to do with u-blox MAX-7 GPS module

Post by kingoddball »

Hello!
First post and it could be annoying!
Could not find any real uses for the u-blox MAX-7 GPS module on the forum.

Just a quick one: What can I do with the GPS module mentioned in the hack/mods section of the wiki.

http://wiki.bitcraze.se/projects:crazyflie:hacks:gps

I want to order and install it but unsure of the uses.
Can someone list up some uses (tested so far?).

I can see we are unable to set it for point to point navigation, but can we log current GPS location, or use the computer to display location or anything?

Thanks!

Hi,

You can read about the current status of the software on our blog. The software currently supports plotting the coordinates on a map and also measuring the max speed. There's still lots of work left to be done, but with more software it could be possible to record the position and also to do waypoint navigation.

Thank you!
That's great. I think I'll add a GPS (Pin header plug attachment rather than direct solder).
