crashes related to flow deck shutter value

Post by wydmynd »

We use the flow deck alot, recently in 2 different drones we had some crashes, and when researching the matter we found that just prior to the crash, the "shutter" value had just become "stuck" at an arbitrary value (usually it adjusts dynamically) , it stays exactly the same during and after the crash, until reboot.
we have only 2-3 instances from which we have recordings and logs (using SD deck) , currently we don't have a means of reproducing the problem, but we wanted to know if you are aware of this or the possibility of this happening.
Thanks alot,
Tom

Actually we haven't heard of such a problem.

What I can think of, It usually happens that the crazyflie loses connection with the flowdeck and the measurement stop, so if you did sync sd card logging, it might seem like the shutter value is stuck, or you can try async logging which logs event based (when the measurement comes in). Go to https://www.bitcraze.io/products/micro-sd-card-deck/ under 'usage' for more explanation how to enable it.

Hi Kimberly,

We have a few instances where the shutter value is stuck at 900 from boot time.
other values such as raw DX DY and squal also look strange - they are mostly fixed at one value but at some points we get some blips of data.

all recordings are 100hz and async.

could this be explained by anything other than a bad connection between CF and flow deck?

thanks

Most plausible is a glitchy connection. If it would be software related we would see it much more often I think.
