Hi, I like the crazyflie a lot. This evening after a recharge I wanted to go for another run and when powering the Crazyflie on it went all the way up in the sky at full speed.
It dropped out of the sky 150 meters from my house.
Now 1 motor is not behaving correctly and the flie doesn't take of correctly. When I hold it in my hand and five some thrust then 1 motor stops turning quite quicly after stopping thurst. The other 3 nicely spin for a while before sopping. the 1 stops immiediatly.
What is this ? a bad propellor or is it something else ?
I hope I can get it to flying again.
Thanks for some advice
Rudy
[SOLVED] Crazyflie went out of control - now 1 motor is slow
Re: Crazyflie went out of control - now 1 motor is slow
Some possibilities:
- Motor shaft is pushed sideways
- Motor is depressed (there is some tutorial on the wiki)
- There are hairs, ... etc. Between Props and motor housing
- the arm was pushed hard on the motor housing (deformed motor housing) (check this by taking out the motor) - if this description fits then i think you have to change this motor
Can you check your motor again and tell us if one description fits to your motor?
I'll search the link to the tutorial tomorrow from the computer.
If there will be no solution or no clear failure description then the last chance is to change the motor (and this should work everytime).

Re: Crazyflie went out of control - now 1 motor is slow
Could be a depressed bearing. Could also be dirt around the axle, could even be a bent axle or a dent in the motor housing as far as I understand, but if your Crazyflie landed on its "head" when it dropped out of the sky I would first check for a depressed bearing.

Re: Crazyflie went out of control - now 1 motor is slow
Dear,
Thanks for the feedback, I got it to run again. I hope to fly it tomorrow outside again.
Still a lot of work to get the flie stable and trimmed ...
Thanks

Re: Crazyflie went out of control - now 1 motor is slow
What was the problem?
When you fly outside make sure that there is no high grass because there is no "find me mode" implemented (not yet).
Otherwise it will happen the same as it did for me

Re: Crazyflie went out of control - now 1 motor is slow
I pulled a little bit on the propellor, I had the impression it was pushed in the motor a bit.
Now everything is back fine.
I fly outside to better land it in case of a crash, better to land in grass then on hard surfaces.
