usb 5v across the battery terminal

Post by cafeciaojoe »

is it possible to put 5v across the battery terminal?

my crazy flies have a casing on them the prevents the usb terminal being used.

Whilst o display I would like to keep them powered so they they are lit up.

i cant use the battery because it is being kept on charge,

would i break the CF if i made a JST to USB cable to keep the CF on?

The VUSB is meant for this. This is available both at he deck port but also as soldering pads left of the USB connector.

Thanks Tobias,

The LED ring only works for a few seconds before restarting when plugged into usb without a battery.

Is it ok to keep the battery plugged in and just charge the battery via usb, AND have the LED ring on?

The VUSB is limited to 500mA so that might be a problem. Yes it is OK to have the battery connected, it will then work as a battery bank and supply power when there is a high load and charge otherwise.
