Positioning deck not turning on, possibly broken

Post by al_cf_uom »

Hi

We've been trying to get a Loco positioning system working for some time.

It's my understanding that when the positioning deck is connected to the crazyflie and our nodes are all configured as such and powered on, the loco deck should have some LED's lit, and the cfclient recognise that it's connected (connected via radio).

This occurs sporadically, however usually the loco deck will simply not have any LED's lit and cfclient will inform us the loco deck is not installed.

We have gotten the loco system to work on several occasions, obtaining position measurements via cfclient but it will nearly always stop working quickly, and usually it simply doesn't light up at all.

Given the seemingly random nature of weather or not the loco deck decides to work we believe there is some electrical fault with our device.

We've tested that it's actually receiving power, and it is (3v at vcc, 0v at gnd as expected) and that all the pins connect properly to the crazyflie via continuity tests but we're now out of ideas.

How do we go about sending it back for testing and potentially receiving a replacement?

The problem seems indeed to be an electric problem, possibly the deck female connector of the deck being glitchy. If you drop us an email at support (at) bitcraze.io we will fix a replacement deck.
