[SOLVED] Charching crashed the firmware

Post by TheFrog4u »

I just recently had a problem that during charching the green led just stopped blinking and was just off. I unplugged the usb cable an tried to restart the cf without success. I removed the battery and only plugged in the usb cable. Now the cf really freaked out: All motors spinned periodically and the leds blicked wildly. I qickly removed the usb cable again and after some time plugged it in again, but the cf did not respond at all. All led where dark. So I just unplugged the usb cable gain and tried get the cf alive again.. After some time I gave up and just let it lie around for some time. Finally I plugged in the battery again and reflashed the firmware - Huray its working again! Still I am unsure if this was a Software only issue..

Realy freaky. Will keep an eye on it. Anyone also had a similar problem?

I would check all the parts to make sure there are no cold solder joints, shorts, non-soldered joints, or frayed/crushed Battery wires. Especially around the USB connector and U8

Visually the board looks full ok.. it also worked 15 chrarges before, and now works again. However I can not test multiple charges now, because one of my motor solderings broke and I don't have a soldering iron here.. Will have to wait untill I am back home on monday.

Ok resolderd the moder wire and everthing works ok.. I have the feeling that the charching/software issue had something to to with the losse motor wire solder point. Maby this created a short somewhere?
