See attached photo, please. Sorry for the German interface.

No, it's not blinking at any time, unfortuantely. Only exception is when plugging it in - as mentioned above. I'm starting to get desperate. :(

I'm getting the feeling it's a driver issue but in the VM everything is already set-up. I've send an email to the other guys, they might have an idea.

Re: Problems installing PyUSB and running CF PC Client

Post by alex »

I'm running Win7 x64 and installed the Crazyradio driver from the wiki without any problem. But as somebody said before this driver isn't needed for VirtualBox, is it? Nevertheless I didn't uninstall it, but just left it as it is. Obviously, VirtualBox knows the Crazyradio, but it maybe doesn't reach Ubuntu inside?

Thanks for your support, guys!

Hi,

Just after connecting the dongle to the VM, can you open a terminal window and type "dmesg", it should display a lot of text ending with:

Code: Select all

[ 164.020130] usb 2-2: new full-speed USB device number 3 using ohci_hcd
[ 164.297289] usb 2-2: New USB device found, idVendor=1915, idProduct=7777
[ 164.297295] usb 2-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=29
[ 164.297298] usb 2-2: Product: Crazyradio USB Dongle
[ 164.297301] usb 2-2: Manufacturer: Bitcraze
[ 164.297303] usb 2-2: SerialNumber: 6D07932721
Do you see something similar?

The dongle is detected/enumerated, first step passed. When you run the cfclient and press the connect button and try after that the scan button on the pop-up window, still no blinking red LED?

No LED activity at all, regardless what I do in the PC Client.

Hmmm, this is really strange. The radio chip, nRF24LU1+, on the dongle is obviously working otherwise the dongle wouldn't be found and the LEDs are also working, but it doesn't want to scan. I guess you tested different USB ports to rule out a problematic USB port?

When you run the cfclient there are some text output to the terminal you are running it from. When you press the connect button do you get:

Code: Select all

INFO:cflib.crtp.radiodriver:v0.5 dongle with serial N/A found

I tried all ports without any change.

No, can't find this line in the console after clicking the connect or scan button. There are some of those info lines but none with this content:

Code: Select all
