Hello,
I've been looking into the new Z-ranger a little bit and notice on the wiki that it uses the i2c pins as well as one of the GPIO. I have attempted looking through "vl53l0x.c" to figure what the IO pin is being used for. I did not see anything, but I could easily have missed something.
I'm hoping that the IO pin is optional for the Z-ranger because I've been working on adding 2 external motors to the Crazyflie so that it can also roll on the ground. Each motor requires 2 GPIO pins, so that leaves no extras. Unless the IO pins are easily used from NRF51? Then that would give me extra IO space.
Z-ranger IO pin
Re: Z-ranger IO pin
The extra IO is not used and not required. It is not connected by default, there is a solder bridge on the PCB in case someone would want to use it.
So there is no problem for you to use this IO for something else.
