Plastic battery wrapper

Post by fdev »

Hi all, I've just received my Craziflie 2.1. I noticed that the LiPo battery is wrapped in a smooth plastic film. This wrapper seems to reduce the friction that should keep the battery in place on the drone. Am I supposed to remove this "external" film? Thank you very much!

P.S.: I'm referring to the film with some information written on it, such as the mAh, Wh, etc.

Hi!

No plastic film should be removed, just leave it on!

Do not remove it! Most batteries have a non-translucent wrapping that covers that copper wire along the side and helps keep all of the pieces in place. This wrapping looks like it's just a clear design to serve that same purpose. You can remove the bar code sticker though. This wrapper holds the protection PCB in place and covers the positive connection to it. You create a risk of a short if you remove it and may cause the PCB to detach. When you purchase batteries from https://batterytools.net/, They will always warn you about such actions, just check the manual or ask your supplier if you have questions.
