[SOLVED] Propeller test of my cf2

Post by Mitteau »

Hi
I found on this forum this very useful firmware called "CF2 propeller test". I used it on my CF2 having fliht instabililties. So how can I interpret the values I get:
STAB: Acc noise floor variance X:0.000356, Y:0.000376, Z:0.001708
STAB: Motor M1 variance X:0.213134, Y:1.211605, Z:0.904464
STAB: Motor M2 variance X:0.484590, Y:2.217539, Z:0.931167
STAB: Motor M3 variance X:2.795556, Y:0.659021, Z:2.496170
STAB: Motor M4 variance X:0.451068, Y:0.474429, Z:0.437469
STAB: Propeller test on M2 [FAIL]. low: 0.0, high: 2.0, measured: 2.70
STAB: Propeller test on M3 [FAIL]. low: 0.0, high: 2.0, measured: 3.45

STAB: Acc noise floor variance X:0.000406, Y:0.000539, Z:0.001449
STAB: Motor M1 variance X:0.081279, Y:0.070669, Z:0.039405
STAB: Motor M2 variance X:0.277411, Y:0.981967, Z:0.407806
STAB: Motor M3 variance X:5.079317, Y:2.098485, Z:0.505157
STAB: Motor M4 variance X:0.757569, Y:0.639884, Z:0.905303
STAB: Propeller test on M3 [FAIL]. low: 0.0, high: 2.0, measured: 7.17
(I performed test two times)
Can you say what is the vrariance on the motors and what is the final propeller test?
What are the critical values?
Thank you very much
Jean-Claude

Well it is something I put together in an afternoon and not scientific at all but will give a hint if one of the propeller/motor is unbalanced. E.g if the CF2 is put on a soft vs. hard surface the output can differ a lot. Looking at your output I would check M3.

Hi Tobias !
Thank you, I will look at the soft to know a little bit more. I feel it is an intuitive but useful way to understand the behaviour of propulsion system.
I tested without propellers an get the following:
STAB: Acc noise floor variance X:0.000501, Y:0.000489, Z:0.001441
STAB: Motor M1 variance X:2.440378, Y:2.169014, Z:0.958618
STAB: Motor M2 variance X:3.236053, Y:3.640677, Z:2.129615
STAB: Motor M3 variance X:0.292334, Y:0.203826, Z:0.933952
STAB: Motor M4 variance X:5.090236, Y:5.172710, Z:13.666160
STAB: Propeller test on M1 [FAIL]. low: 0.0, high: 2.0, measured: 4.60
STAB: Propeller test on M2 [FAIL]. low: 0.0, high: 2.0, measured: 6.87
STAB: Propeller test on M4 [FAIL]. low: 0.0, high: 2.0, measured: 10.26

My cf2 is equipped with soft landing gear:

So, it's a soft ground, I think.
