Crazyflie rebooting on shock with LPS deck

Post by 4rzael »

Hello,

I've got multiple crazyflie2 equipped with LPS decks, and encountered a very strange behaviour :

When I drop a drone from ~10cm, it reboots and then fails its self tests, as seen in this video :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAjQYIFTkG4

The strange part :
I have 2 drones, lets call them A and B, and two decks, A' and B'. Here are my tests results :

drone A with deck A' : 90% occurence (10 tests)
drone A with deck B' : 0% occurence (100 tests)
drone A without any deck : 0% occurence (100 tests)

drone B with deck A' : 0% occurence (100 tests)
drone B with deck B' : 0% occurence (100 tests)
drone B without any deck : 0% occurence (100 tests)

I "fixed" the problem by switching the decks between the two drones, but that's still strange, so I'm posting this in case anyone encounters the same issue.

(NB : I don't know how to get self test results to see what is wrong)

Hi,

To get the self-test result you can connect to the drone using the Crazyflie client and look at the console, it should indicate why the Crazyflie restarted. The reason why the self-test fails is that the Crazyflie restarted because of the watchdog and this is detected upon restart.

My guess is that the Loco deck disconnects slightly at the impact, are all the deck pins going through completely?
