crazyflie suddenly stopped working

I got a similar Problem to: "When I try to connect to the quadcopter I get an error and the green LED is not flashing, indicating radio link up"
but the connections succeeds partly even though the copter seems to receive no commands.

I tried flashing it with the firmware again and that worked but didn't change anything with the behaviour.

When I connect the client the client UI doesn't "realize" anythin is wrong, when I wiggle my controls the respective dials show e.g. thrust change but the copter doesn't do anything.
Upon first connect to the copter the green LED lights up but is very dim.

What can I do?

I think you have ended up with a broken gyro . Please have a look at this thread.
