See the photo. What's the port between the motors for?
I'm wondering if it can be removed.

That is the debug port for the STM CPU. It is marked P3 in the schematics (on the right hand side of https://wiki.bitcraze.io/_media/project ... matics.pdf) and is used for single stepping code or flashing firmware.
If you don't use it, it can be removed. New firmware can still be flashed to the Bolt using the radio.
