Light Painting

Hey guys,

I've been messing around with the flow deck and I'm loving it. I recently got into light painting and quickly realized that the flow deck doesn't work in the dark. Is there a way around buying an entirely new set up (like attaching a flashlight of some sort on the bottom of the crazyflie)? If not, what are the best setup combinations for light painting in the dark? What are the advantages/disadvantages to using them?

Thanks!

The flow deck is sensitive to infrared light, so you might be able to hack an infrared LED (for example by soldering one to a prototyping or to the battery holder deck and hanging it to light up the space bellow the Crazyflie), and by using a camera with an IR filter so that your camera does not pick-up the IR illumination required for the flow to work. Having a lot of contrast beneath the Crazyflie will also help a lot tracking in low light condition.
