[SOLVED]Charge with 2A?

Post by xzentorzx »

Hey there,

can I charge the CF with a 2A external battery pack, or will that fry something on the board? I've tried to search for an answer but couldn't find anything. Don't want to risk to brick it just because of that.
Would be cool if anybody could let me know, or tell me where to look it up :)

Cheers,
Xzen

If we are talking about a USB power bank like external battery here: Your battery pack being rated with 2A means that it can provide 2A of current, not that it will send out 2A to everything you attach to it. So no, you won't fry your CF if you attach it, it will just draw as much current as it needs for charging (200mA?) and that's it. It's like with your wall sockets -- they CAN provide something like 10A, doesn't mean that every little consumer you plugin will receive 10A (that would lead to a quite high utility bill ;)).
