I'm trying to build a drone using the big quad expansion deck. I'm fairly new to the drone scene, so I'd like to ask for help in building it since I might do something improperly and break the drone.
Crazyflie 2.0
BigQuad Deck
ESC: 20A Lighting BL Heli Emax
Motor: RS2205S- 2300KV
Battery: 11.1v 60v 1100mAH Lithium-ion Polymer
My main concern is with the batteries. I plan to make a adapter for the battery's plug since it doesn't fit with the CF. The CF's original battery is approximately just 3.7v.
-Will the crazyflie and BigQuad deck be able to handle the difference? Should I be concerned with breaking anything if used the 11.1v battery to directly connect to the jack of the Crazyflie?
- Since the ESC doesn't have a built in BEC, Do I still need some sort of BEC or will the BigQuad deck handle that for us?
Thanks for the help.
Component Questions. Building a bigger drone with BigQuad Deck
Re: Component Questions. Building a bigger drone with BigQuad Deck
Welcome! You have some fun in front of you.
The Crazyflie battery port can only handle up to 4.2V (LiPo) so you will need a BEC that you connect to one of the 5V inputs on the BQ-deck. See the example connection diagram.
