controller questions

I been reading this (https://wiki.bitcraze.io/doc:crazyflie: ... roid:index) and it say to connect wireless a xbox or a ps controller to an android phone the phone has to be rooted, now is this the same case with controller specially designed for android like steelseries free controller or a nyko playpad ?

Hi,

Root is only required if you use a PS3 controller with the Sixaxis app.
Dedicated controllers for Android should work without root.

Please let me know if you have tested one of these controllers, so I can add the info to the wiki.

thanks for the info derf, I recently bought one of the original crazyflie from my hobby shop 3 days ago and i am trying to find the best control method and easiest to use since I am no programmer and already have a steelseries free controller for my Samsung galaxy.

Just wanted to report that the evolution controllers "drone" works perfectly with Android devices and a crazyflie in my experience.

Did your Steelseries Free work? I am looking for the cheapest outlet for a controller and the Steelseries Free is only $20 on Amazon.
