Flying Crazyflie 2.0 with Bluetooth

Post by ArthurA »

n00b question here.

I have not yet got my CF 2.0 but I'm just wondering if I can fly the 2.0 using normal bluetooth from my computer (ie without the crazyradio), or do I need the crazyradio to fly it from a computer?

Hi my friend
Control via Bluetooth and PC Not possible,
Only with a mobile phone (Android, iOS) can be connected via Bluetooth to CF v2.0 .
Also, it is difficult to control by mobile phone ;)
do I need the crazyradio to fly it from a computer?

Yes, Yes of course
Crazyflie 2.0 + Crazyradio PA + Debug Adapter and LED Deck.

Well, in theory the CF could be controlled from a computer if it supports Bluetooth LE, given that the software supports it. So far, the current CF client only supports the Crazyradio though.

A problem is that you need a Bluetooth LE radio in your computer, most computers don't have that yet. Also there is no standard Bluetooth LE stack and the support vary a lot between different OS. Currently it is just too much work to implement and support it.
