Re: Questions regarding using crazyflie client on Linux

The error you get indicates that you did not install the correct udev rules file that would give access to the Crazyradio to normal users (ie. not only to root). If you follow the instruction there, it should solve the problem: https://github.com/bitcraze/crazyflie-lib-python#setting-udev-permissions.

Re: Gampad for Crazyflie

For me the best gamepad to fly Crazyflie manually will always be the PS3 gamepad, however it is now getting very old, is hard to find and not easy to interface with a PC wirelessly. The main reason is that the PS3 joystick have a quite long course which allows for more precision mainly with the thru...

Re: lighthouse-fpga Code on UPduino(UP5K) and HX8K Dev. Kit

Hi, Sorry for the late answer, things have been a bit busy here. Thanks for the kind words, Spinal was indeed a great step-up from verilog I was using on previous version of the lighthouse receiver. For the chip initialization I would check the connection: the connection to the sensor is usually pre...

There is one extra warning flag enabled in the compiler by the Makefile when compiling in debug mode, this is why you are seeing more warnings in debug mode.

Re: Modifying usbLinkTask causing queue error

I have new ideas abut what can go wrong but I have a proposal that could allow you to make your own protocol without modifying the low level packet handling: You can use the "app channel" to transmit your packets in a CRTP packet. There is an API ready to use in the Crazyflie to send and receive pac...

Re: peer2peer for relative position measurments

If you already have 3 Crazyflie at hands the easiest would be to make an app for the thirds one that listen to the p2p packets and store the positions in log variables. This way you can easily connect to it with the client or a python script and log the positions that are being sent by the two other...

Re: Difference between task and callback? (Task vs Callback)

In FreeRTOS a task is a thread: tasks are running seemingly in parallel and are sharing the same memory. At any time, the task that can run and that has the highest priority, will be the one running on the CPU. On the Crazyflie, as soon as FreeRTOS is launched (this is done very early in the boot), ...

Re: [crazyflie 2.0] constant crashing and motors failing to activate.

Hi, I can see the same problem and I cannot explain it. My current assumption is that somehow the nRF51 which is the radio as well as the power management chip is receiving a shutdown command. Maybe there is some problem with the serial communication between the CPUs. I created a ticket to track the...

Re: Modifying usbLinkTask causing queue error

Hi, Side note: I edited your message to add code blocks, it makes it much easier to read. The FreeRTOS assert you are getting might actually comes from memory problem. We have seen it when a task would have its stack overflow. So the first debug advice I would have would be to increase the stack siz...
