I have been trying to replicate the problem for a while now but no luck. I don't know what that means but maybe it is a good idea if you could send me your broken Crazyflie omwdunkley?

I'm moving this to the crazyflie development forum as I think it will get more attention there. That makes me think that maybe we should have a separate forum for the client and libraries.

That is also one of our dream goals but without advanced position tracking systems such as VICON it is very difficult to accomplice. I'm not yet aware of any research lab that has managed to do it without an external position tracking system. We have used a kinect to do external position tracking an...

Always encouraging when people want to start playing with the Crazyflie on a programming level!
Unfortunately we don't yet have any good "get started" guides more then what is already available on the wiki. You could try those examples to begin with and see where that takes you.

I think you need to be a bit more specific about you requirements. How precise do you need to know the distance, do you need to know the direction etc.
