It could be programmed with AVR I think but a "driver" would have to be written to do it. The nRF24LU1+ chip can be programmed over SPI so with a tool that can do that it is possible but not for any beginner. Also the voltage levels have to be compatible. If I recall correctly the nRF24LU...
