Re: Replacement diode (Crazyflie)

Thanks it worked fine. The two digit ident code was the same too. I didn't loose any so I have four spare.

[SOLVED] Replacement diode (Crazyflie)

While changing a motor I notice I had lost one of the diodes. It was missing. That motor stops more quickly but otherwise it appears to work ok. Not sure if I am wasting power or if the gate is being spiked with high voltage without the diode. I found these on ebay will they do the job? Not 100% sur...

Thanks for this. Saves me guessing if I have read the spec correct.

Re: Breaking motor mounts.

It is not trivial though as that involves adding connectors which somehow needs to be threaded through the mount or similar. With some clever design it should be doable...any ideas? Agreed, don't make the mount so stong the PCB breaks. I think the reality of my soldering is the wires are soldered t...

Re: Barometer assisted thrust.

I think I ended up with a PID on thrust based on height error. This is slightly strainge as the thrust is acceleration and not speed, this is not so clever. A better way would have a target climb rate that is proportional to height error and then have a PID controling thrust to achieve the climb rat...

Re: Barometer assisted thrust.

It was a quick test, but without is was more unstable and would hit the ceiling or floor. With, the range was much less and it would even hover for a bit. I have not tuned it under the new conditions. As you say there is still instability. I am flying under artificial energy saver lights. Not sure h...

Re: Barometer assisted thrust.

I read somewhere that it is good to cover the pressure sensor with some breathing foam or similar to avoid the effect from the airflow from the propellers. Something worth a try to get better reading. WOW! This makes alot of difference. I'm not sure if it is related to the "wind", "N...

Re: Barometer assisted thrust.

I was searching for foam examples on-line. Ive noticed a few post now on the sensor being light sensative too. Under modern lights that may be contributing to noise.

Re: Breaking motor mounts.

So I think they were power off dives from 1m-1.5m. Probably at an angle of 30 degrees pluss. Some were onto a hard floor (driveway). Onto carpet seams OK, I had one failure flying in the house but unsure what it crashed into, could of been some furniture. I agree with the sentiment that I don't want...
