Re: Loco accuracy

I never worked with the Roadrunner but to me, the error in the localization seems pretty normal and is not the fault of a Kalman Filter or any of its parameters per se. The problem with these UWB antennas is, that the channel impulse response is dependent on the angle of arrival and departure of a s...

Accuracy of Loco Positioning Node

Hi guys,

I wanted to share my project on the accuracy of the LPS, might be helpful for some people!

Re: Modifying the loco positioning firmware

I am an ETH student as well and also modified the firmware for my master thesis. I had a similiar issue, but I solved it by changing the return value from MAX_TIMEOUT to an arbitrary integer. Maybe this helps?

Re: Max Distance Ranging

Thanks, let me check if the distance to the ground makes a difference. Btw, is it also normal that the ranging offset changes according to where the tag is placed? In my lab, I have access to a Vicon system in order to measure the actual distance. 1. If I attach the tag on the drone, and I place the...

Re: Max Distance Ranging

Yes, I enabled full power on both tag and anchor. However, since I am planning on attaching one LPS node onto our custom drone, I am not using the crazyflie. Therefore, in my experiment, I am using two LPS as anchor and tag respectively. Additionally, I rewrote the firmware for an additional Sniffer...

Re: Max Distance Ranging

I did a few tests myself outdoor on a race track. The furthest distance I was able to get a continuous stream of range data was approximately 25m at max power. However, your investigation lists a max range of 50-70m. How is this difference possible?

LPS offset not constant

For my application, I want to measure distances. Hence, I calibrate my LPS pair at a fixed distance and usually get an offset at around 10-15cm. Today, I realized that the offset is 50cm at the same fixed distance, although I didnt change anything at its configurations. Is this possible, that the ra...
