Re: Flash the firmware
What does not work when flashing the firmware? What is your end goal? Normal Flash 1. When drone is OFF but battery is connected, hold down power button until both blue LEDs start to blink 2. When LEDs are flashing use the radio to flash the firmware using make cload Debugger If you use a debugger y...

Re: Power Consumption
We ended up getting it sorted. For the pmRunSystem(true); command that needs to run in a while loop. I think there was some issue where it was constantly rebooting inside of the if statement. It did not solve the 12 second boot time though. So what I ended up modifying the STM firmware to boot quick...

Re: Power Consumption
Still not working. It's still starting VCC but the STM never actually boots. I also tried directly booting in main without the sleep mode and the timer. It works but it takes about 12 seconds from the LEDs turning on to the system actually booting when the motors test themselves. int main() { pmPowe...

Re: bootloader dont't work
What happens if you hold down the power button while connecting power? Can be tricky to connect the battery one handed so I use a power supply with a button. 1. Disconnect battery 2. Hold power button 3. Connect battery/power If the bootloader is working the blue led(s) should start to blink and the...

Re: Power Consumption
I got the sleep working! And broke the booting.... Since the goal is just to power cycle the STM and then sleep during off time I figured we could just directly do that in main and bypass the state machine in pmProcess(); This works to cycle between sleep and active mode using timer 0 (boot flag set...

Re: Power Consumption
Sensor calibration was removed. It required a stable platform and we are attaching the CF to a balloon so it was never stable during flight so it would never pass calibration. Another thing that came to my mind would be to let the MPU9250 do the sensor fusion using its MPU and letting the STM32 put ...

Re: Power Consumption
I ended up going with the power cycle version of the code that looks like this. It works super well for what we need. On the STM I am running a super simple motor control program inside the stabilizer task. In the future we will expand this a bit and maybe save state to memory during the on period o...

Re: Power Consumption
I spent some time working on the STM32 firmware. I was able to drop the power by about 20 mW but the other changes broke the system like you suggested (dropping frequency, etc.) That being said I think reaching 100mW (about 27mA) will be difficult. Then I think the system would have to work in an on...

Re: Power Consumption
The goal is to get the electronic power consumption as low as possible. I built a blimp using a large helium balloon and we have a flex solar panel to mount on top. The solar panel can provide a few hundred mWs of power. The major consumption of power in the current CF2 is due to the motors to lift ...

Re: average current draw in hover
This post I made yesterday should probably help as well: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2207&p=11214#p11214
It does not cover motor draw (hint - a lot), but all the electronics are covered.
