Ok I manage to upgrade the crazyradio firmware.
I had to use the Bitcraze VM version 0.3 without running the update script first.

on www.seeedstudio.com their is no option to buy a kit without the CrazyRadio. As I already own a kit I dont need a second radio. This would reduce the overall cost of the kits correct?
will seeedstudio bring us this option?

Ive already had to swap out two motors due to issues with them...

In the promo video there was a section on hacks and one of these showed protection for the rotors. Is this option one I can buy?

I would order more motors but they are out of stock

As a material, I would use something with a low coefficient of friction, your easiest bet is probably PTFE then graphite or Teflon.
