Re: Balancing during the assembly

It is better to use all the propellers with the highest values. Because this propellers course not only less vibration but they have also better buoyancy (boost :D ).
BTW: Energy consumption and sound of the CF is also better :!:

Tuning worth it!

Re: Working FPV Camera setup with realtime HUD

Looks great! Two suggestions from my site:
-holder model with just 2 or 3 arms
-cam holder with/of soft material for less vibrations. Maybe two parts.

Re: AW: Working FPV setup with realtime HUD

Really cool! Great work!
Have you tried to fly in X-mode and place the cam between the motors. Result: No motor in the picture and not only the front motor must carry the most.

BTW: Please check your links.
Thanks for posting your great work. An inspiring all of us.

Re: android setup

Also a possible CF APP setup with external controller (wired):
CF_Android_APP_with_Controller.jpg
Now, i use the App SixaxisController (root needed) to fly wireless (via bluetooth) with my PS3 controller and the smartphone in the pocket.

Re: android setup

The API (sdk) min level for the CF APP is the problem. see Code

Code: Select all

    <uses-sdk
        android:minSdkVersion="13"
        android:targetSdkVersion="15" />
For example Android 2.1.x is API level 7.

You can try this (at your one risk):
CrazyflieControl_minAPI_7.zip
CrazyflieControl.apk (29.07.2013) compiled with min API 7
(171.85 KiB) Downloaded 518 times

Re: Tethered flight

From my point of view it is not recommended to fly longer than 15-20 minutes, because the motors will heat up and that decrease the lifetime of the motor extremely.

Re: Crazyflie w/ Double Motors

So the conclusion is that I need some good landing gear and probably to attach the motors so they don't slide out. I want to use hotglue for the motors, but if I need to exchange one of the motors I don't think I'll be able to... Maybe you can solder two motors with a stiff wire like this: cf_dual_...
