Freefall detection ready for prime-time?

Hi, I have just upgraded my firmware for my 2.0, and enabled the freefall detection. Upon usage of the default values, I find it works fine if I simply drop the crazyflie. However, if I am actually flying, and I release thrust, then FF kicks in and thrusts the crazyflie all the way up to the ceiling...

Got a perfect flip!

The real trick seems to be not the flip, but getting out of the prop-wash afterwards...

Re: Crayflie 2.0 + CrazyRadio PA Poor Range

Quick update: I checked the firmware (lsusb -d 1915:7777 -v | grep bcdDevice) and it responded:

"0.53"

CF2.0 safe landing on lost connection?

I have a few CF2.0 and just last night I broke off one of the legs from falling out of the sky. I have another forum post about the poor range with CR PA, but this one is specifically about quad recovery. It seems that the radio link can be disconnected for unknown reasons, even with plenty of batte...

Crayflie 2.0 + CrazyRadio PA Poor Range

I have a PA radio and CF 2.0 and my range is poor - about the same as with the non-PA radio - ~30m.

When the radio powers on both red and green LED's come on, then they both turn off (I believe once the USB driver has initialized).

Any ideas what could be wrong/what I should do to diagnose?

Re: Crazyflie 2.0 stunt video

Hi, I'm flying in the default advanced mode (attitude). The trick is getting the quad to pitch enough under speed, then pitch back the other way and fully throttle down. That will put the quad into a flip, at which time you can apply thrust again to recover. The controller I've built is slowly getti...

And finally, a successful flip!

Landing was a bit rough... but baby steps.

Crazyflie 2.0 stunt video

Hey everyone, I thought I'd upload a short montage of my attempts to learn how to flip the Crazyflie 2.0 - plus it's a chance to show off the Crazyflie's abilities to handle outdoor flying in the wind. Recorded on an iPhone 6 Plus in 240FPS mode. http://youtu.be/LZ3OqjLLQtU I'm using a stock Crazyfl...

CF2.0 Stabilization Response

Hi, While I think the CF2.0 is behaving with expected parameters, I feel that its stabilization could be improved. With no wind - its very stable. With wind, it counteracts very slowly, resulting in a kind of 'thrashing' and 'wobble'. I can post some videos if noone else has witnessed this, but I ha...

Re: CrazyFlie RPi Image wont boot on model b+

Hi Chad, Thanks so much for posting the scripts and instructions. I ran your script, and followed the instructions but skipped step "Update (downgrade) cfclient to a usable state" and it worked perfectly. I now have a fully functioning pi controller, RPiB+/CF2/PS4/CrazyRadio. Great work!! ...
